My DJ top is done!!

Well. Almost...just have to add the scallop around the edges...but all the blocks are sewn up into the quilt! Just took a little over a year and a half to get to this stage...started early February 2005 and it is all done by hand! I have found it very relaxing to work on the blocks a little at a time, my evening therapy for stressful days chasing after two dynamos ages 2 and 3!

Aine wanted to pose this morning with her apple, LOL! She will help me peel all the freezer paper templates off the back, she's been a great fan the whole way through. Posted by Picasa

Wow just beautifull and you did it fast too. Two of my friends are doing this one too and are already busy for 3 and 4 years now. They are doing them both in other colors and they look also so good.

Cathi - your quilt is absolutely beautiful !! You must be so proud :-)
I added a 3" strip around my DJ and used Linda Franz' method to do the scallops. It worked very well.

BTW - looking at your sidebar and the bear quilt- I really hope your cousin has come through all right. Have I missed some news ?

Have a lovely weekend !

Yay, awesome. I cannot even begin to imagine starting something like that, let alone finishing it in such a short time.

Great big congratulations!! You are an inspiration to me.

I have finished 13 blocks so far - so I have a long way to go. I am sewing it by hand as well but I must be doing it differently because I pull the freezer paper off before I sew the blocks together.

Ahh, what an accomplishment!

And I think you've done it very quickly! That's a lot of little blocks and bits to sew together, whew!

You are so amazing to be finished already! I am hanging my head in shame since I haven't made a single block in almost a year even with your inspiration. It is a beautiful masterpiece. Are you going to handquilt it too?

It is an amazing quilt! I keep thinking of a DJ project - so fitting to work on in Europe as fabric is so hard to come by... 1 fat quarter tower and background fabric would keep me busy for months!!! And look there - it is only 1/2 way through October so for sure you should make your goal of finishing it this month!!! So nice to have little "helpers" too - although mine has been VERY interested in scissors lately - yikes!

Cheers!

Evelyn
