Crazy Quilt Developing
Okay...tonight's block is okay, but probably a bit busy...but I am happy enough with it...
Was playing around in Photoshop with it, and trying to figure out if I like the brown or green sashing best...maybe I should try it with a muslin sashing as well...I hope to do one each night till I'm done...3 more to do...
I also need to get back to my free pieced letters, but this has called to me first. I'm leaning towards a green sashing. What do you think?

I like the green sashing. I think it shows of the colour of the old pictures the best.
I think it contrasts nicely with the photos and the sepia tones.
I like the green too - but the brown seems to make the blocks pop more. And I still love the photo of the skaters!
These blocks are looking really nice. I love the sepia type tones used.
Have you tried a Maroon or dark red? to pull out the bit of the dark red that is in the blocks, or maybe a lighter green. I'm a green girl, but agree with Bonnie, the brown(pictured) works better than the green (pictured)
:)
I like the brown better also. I think muslin would be too light but sometimes you never know until you get all the blocks made and look at actual fabric choices.
the blocks are looking great. The blocks are much more accentuated laying on the brown, so i guess it partly depends on what you want the sashing to do -- blend, accent something in the blocks, make the whole block pop.... What would it be like without sashing?
I like both the green and the brown - have you thought about doing a attic window type sashing with green on the left and top, and brown on the right and bottom?
Have you considered no sashing? You could do your own embellishment on the seams...
I think I may be leaning towards no sashing. I like CC's suggestion of just embellishing on the seams.
I am going for the green too.
Ok, I am a "green" girls BUT I think I like the blocks with the brown. It is strong and it frames
them well. I also think it matches well with the photos.

I like the browns sashing. It adds to the tone of the photos. BUT....I also like the idea of burgandy that jo mentioned.
TOO many choices! But, it does look good.
I think that you will like that it is "busy" when you get it done.
I love your crazy quilt blocks. I'm in a crazy RR now and it have been very fun. So much to learn. Looking forward to se it developing. Hugs from Norway
